The London Underground is to run an extended service on the day of the Queen’s state funeral with last trains running in the early hours of Tuesday morning, TfL has said.

The Bakerloo, Victoria, Jubilee, Circle and Hammersmith & City lines will all operate an extended service across their whole lines on the bank holiday, (Monday, September 19).

The Northern line will run an extended service until 1am, except for the Mill Hill East and Battersea Power Station sections of the line.

There will also be a later service on the Piccadilly line, apart from the Uxbridge branch and to Heathrow Terminal 4 and 5.

The Metropolitan and District lines will also have a later schedule in place, except for the Olympia and Edgware Road branches of the District line and the Watford and Chesham branches of the Metropolitan line.

A 1am later service will also be operating on the Central line, but this won’t be the case for trains via West Ruislip or between Hainault and Woodford.

Elizabeth line services will also be running later between Paddington and Abbey Wood, but the Waterloo & City line will have a normal service in operation.

A spokesperson for Transport for London said: “To ensure that as many people as possible paying their respects to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II can travel around the capital safely following her funeral, most London Underground services will run for an additional hour on the night of Monday, September 19, through to early Tuesday morning.”
